Gail Christine Young, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on May 22, 1945, Gail lived a life rich with passion and generosity. Her kitchen was a place where no one left hungry, as she lovingly fed neighbors and friends with her delicious cooking.

A gifted poet and philosopher, Gail also dedicated herself to teaching Black history, sharing her knowledge and insights with a deep love for her heritage. She embraced life with an open heart, cherishing every experience it offered.

Gail is survived by her daughters Donna Ragland, Vera Young, Robert Young ,Sherry Johnson, and Teri Young, She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Tamika, Jason, Shawn, Terry, Marcus,Robert jr. Matthew, and Dakota. She is remembered by her sister Anease and nephew Tony Edwards. Gail was preceded in death by Vera Edwards, L.C Easter, and her sister Wanda Edwards.We will miss her.
